UK SCADA specialist offers new touch screen monitor range designed for maximum clarity and ease of use
Products4Automation (P4A) has launched a new range of slimline industrial personal computers and monitors to complement its SCADA products. The new equipment is stylish and high performance, as you’d expect being supplied by Hardware Solutions SRL based in Modena, Italy. Which happens to be where Progea is from, the company that produces Movicon SCADA – also supplied in the UK by P4A.
The SLIM 800 range comes in a range of sizes 815, 817, 818, 819 and 821, each of which is available in several variants. The SLIM 815XJ panel mounting unit for example is fitted with an Intel® Celeron™ J1900 Processor (2.0GHz) CPU, while the SLIM 815XN is based around an Intel® Pentium™ N4200 Processor (2.5GHz) CPU. Both have dual channel memory and serial, USB, audio, graphic and Ethernet IO ports.
Screens are 15 inch thin-film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT LCDs), which provide pin-sharp displays with a wide angle of view. There is a choice of projected capacitive resistive or zero bezel screens types, with 90% projected capacitive and 80% resistive light transmission respectively.
They are IP66 rated, 425mm x 330mm x 81mm and weigh 7kg. An aluminium front bezel is the standard option for mounting, with an optional INOX 316 stainless steel alternative. Operating systems options include Windows® 7 PRO, 7 Ultimate, WS7E, WS7P, 10 PRO and 10 IoT / Linux.
The SLIM 817XJ and SLIM 817XN are similar but are fitted with larger 17-inch screens. The SLIM 818XJ and XN have 18.5-inch screens, the 819s have 19-inch screens, and the 821s have 21.5-inch screens. The largest units measure 572mm x 396mm x 86mm and weigh 8kg.
Natalie Turner of P4A explains the advantages of the new monitors and displays: “They are easy to mount into control panels and in use are clear, with a wide viewing angle and an almost infinite colour range. Importantly their touch screen functioning makes operation intuitive. As such they are a perfect complement to our SCADA, HMI, building automation and other software packages.”
